Jeff Evans is the author of 5 books on Maori and Pacific culture. His first two books, Nga Waka o Nehera, and The Discovery of Aotearoa concentrate on the migration traditions of the Maori and the navigation skills used to guide the ancestors of today’s Maori from the central Pacific to Aotearoa/New Zealand. Following on from those offerings are a pair of books exploring two aspects of Maori material culture: Waka Taua: the Maori War Canoe, and Maori Weapons in Pre-European New Zealand. Jeff’s final book is an in-depth biography of the inspirational Heke-nuku-mai-nga-iwi Busby, which was released in April of 2015. You can view a role call of covers here.
